Sustainable Red Deer is dedicated to enhancing the long term quality of life in Red Deer and surrounding area.

This web portal is a place for citizens to learn from one another and contribute to community understanding of sustainability issues.

The site is operated by volunteers from the ReThink Red Deer citizens' group, with financial support from our sponsors.

The Sustainable Red Deer philosophy is that we are citizens first and consumers second; that our world is finite and borrowed from future generations; that we can live sustainably and in harmony with nature; and that inspiration is a renewable resource.

We believe in starting where we can - with our own lives, and our own community - Red Deer.

The intent of this group is to get many individuals each taking small actions (write a letter, make a call, attend a forum, talk to a friend) that will build momentum for a higher emphasis on quality of life issues in Red Deer.
